The interim Government's Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has become directly involved in the BPL’s planning and development. Taking inspiration from global sporting events like the Olympics, the mastermind has been consulted to help shape the tournament’s vision, providing valuable insights on branding and international appeal.
“It's a personal initiative by the Chief Advisor, who has shown a special interest in this project. The aim is to elevate the BPL to international standards, making it a global brand so the world can see the talent of Bangladesh’s young cricketers and the quality of our game,” BCB director Nazmul Abedin Fahim said in Mirpur on Monday.
The BPL is all set to get international exposure. Though everything cannot be telecast across the world, the BCB is trying to make it a center of attraction for the world by inviting some renowned figures like football stars or Hollywood actors.
“Imagine if Professor Yunus himself speaks at the event, or a prominent footballer or Hollywood star joins—it will naturally draw global media attention. We aim to promote the BPL worldwide, reaching audiences in ways we haven’t before,” the official added.
Even Professor Yunus has penned a few lines for the tournament’s anthem, which is expected to give the event a unique and high tone.
The forthcoming extravaganza will be far from ordinary as it’s designed to captivate audiences with grand ceremonies, star appearances, and regional initiatives to engage communities across Bangladesh. Plans include concerts and other entertainment events, with a focus on making the tournament environmentally sustainable.
