Bangladesh and Afghanistan have swapped positions in the latest ICC ODI rankings following their recently concluded three-match series, with Bangladesh dropping to ninth and Afghanistan climbing to eighth.
The Tigers lost the series 2-1 after suffering a five-wicket defeat in the final ODI at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium yesterday. Both teams now share 85 rating points, but Afghanistan edges ahead on decimal calculations.

This was Bangladesh’s first ODI series in seven months, their last being a home series against Sri Lanka in March.

In contrast, Afghanistan has been in strong form in the 50-over format, including a 2-1 series victory over South Africa in Sharjah in September.
Looking ahead, both teams have three more ODIs this year. Bangladesh will face the West Indies in the Caribbean in December, while Afghanistan is set to tour Zimbabwe during the same month.
