Bangladesh stand-in captain Najmul Hossain Shanto admitted that the team will miss regular captain Shakib al Hasan in the upcoming New Zealand Test series.
Bangladesh will be without their regular captain Shakib who has been ruled out of the entire Test series as the all-rounder suffered a fracture in his left index finger against Sri Lanka in the World Cup match.

Along with Shakib, experienced campaigners Tamim Iqbal, Litton Das and Taskin Ahmed will also miss the Test series due to various reasons.

“Yes, we will definitely miss Shakib bhai. I think every player will miss him. He called yesterday night and talked about the team. He wished us for the upcoming series. Wished all the players and told us to do our best,” said Shanto in the press conference.
Shanto was confident about captaining the side and believes he has the ability to lead Tigers in all three formats.
" A captain is a captain. I personally feel that I have the ability to captain all formats. This is my personal belief," said Shanto.
"Obviously, I think whoever is going to be the captain, should be given enough time. It will help a lot of good and help him become convenient to plan," he added.
