Former Bangladesh opener Nafees Iqbal has been appointed as the team manager for the upcoming New Zealand series, according to a Bangladesh Cricket Board official speaking to Cricfrenzy.
Nafees was excluded from the Bangladesh World team at the very last moment and it was rumored that the recommendation was from national team captain Shakib.

Following that, Nafees took to social media platform to clear his position and said he stated he was removed from the World Cup setup.
"I would like to clarify that my action of leaving the national team during the 3rd ODI against New Zealand was out of emotion as I was informed at the morning of the 3rd ODI 26th September that I will not be part of the World Cup contingent. Similar incident had happened ahead of the T20 World Cup last year.
Nafees was appointed to a staff role with the national team after the T20 World Cup last year.
Nafees earlier served as the A team manager. He is also performing coaching role in the Dhaka Premier League for Khelaghar.
