27 Feb 25Former Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the interim chief selector of the Pakistan national cricket team.
Following his appointment as the team’s interim chief selector, Riaz said, “I would like to express my gratitude to Zaka Ashraf.”

“It is a proud moment to spearhead the national selection committee. It is commendable to take the former cricketers on board in terms of handling matters pertaining to cricket”, said Riaz.

Wahab, who retired from international cricket in August this year will get going in his new post ahead of the three-match Test series in Australia, to be played in December-January, which will be followed by a five-match T20I series in New Zealand in January.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez had been appointed as the Pakistan national cricket team’s head coach and director.
Pakistan are scheduled to play a series of three Tests against Australia and five T20Is against New Zealand.
