The ‘Timed Out’ incident between Shakib al Hasan and Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews during the World Cup match has gained unwavering buzz in the cricket fraternity.
Following the incident both the cricketers were heavily criticised from many aspects, but Shakib’s LPL franchise Galle Titans showed pure support for the all-rounder.
Galle Titans signed Shakib Al Hasan as a direct contract in the last season and Mohammad Mithun also featured for the franchise.
The franchise took to social media to state that Sri Lankans will always value and support the cricketers of any country.

“Please remember that a single statement of one person does not reflect the opinion of the entire country. Similarly, Sri Lankans will never behave like this. the cricket fans of our country will accept a player from any country very lovingly at any time,” Galle Titans said in a statement.
The incident took place when Mathews became the first player in the 146-year history of international cricket to suffer a ‘Timed Out’ dismissal when he exceeded the two-minute limit to take a strike.
According to the laws of cricket, after the fall of a wicket or the retirement of a batsman, the incoming player must be ready to receive the ball within two minutes.
Mathews came to bat but his helmet’s strap was broken while he waited for the replacement, Shakib appealed to the umpires and he was given out.
