Former India batter Virender Sehwag heaped praises on the Afghanistan cricket team for their commanding win over 1996’s champions Sri Lanka.
Afghanistan lost the first two matches against India and Bangladesh but secured gritty wins over World Champions England, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka on the trot.
Sehwag compared the performance of Bangladesh with Afghanistan stating that Bangladesh has failed to show consistency and never beaten big teams in a row.

“Wow Afghanistan, what a performance. So much to learn from the spirit they have shown. Bangladesh has been around for 25 years and they haven’t beaten the big teams in a row so often as the Afghan boys have done in a much shorter span of time. The most improved side in a short duration,” Sehwag posted on X.
Bangladesh suffered a humiliating 87-run defeat in the latest against the Netherlands losing five out of six matches which made their semi-final hope bleak.
However, they began the tournament on a high note beating Afghanistan by six wickets.
Bangladesh will face Pakistan on Tuesday at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
