Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon finally spoke to the media and said that the Board will always support the players despite all the odds.
Bangladesh suffered a humiliating 87-run defeat against the Netherlands as they slumped to fifth successive defeat in the ongoing tournament. After such a defeat against Netherlands cricket fraternity heavily criticised the performance of the players and team management.
Papon, however, stated that the board will always stand with the cricketers in such a difficult time. He urged everyone to support the cricketers and expressed hope that they will finish the World Cup by winning the remaining three matches.

"We have nothing to do with the past, and we have three matches ahead of us. We must perform well in the next three games. We need to support them and help gain confidence. They will always be confused unless they have these two elements," Papon told the media on Sunday.
"The fact that they can't win makes them feel even worse. They can't accept that they aren't getting runs. This is what I told them. Those who will say mean things now must do so. There is no reason to be concerned. People would discuss such things because they love cricket,” he said.
With upcoming matches against Pakistan, Australia and Sri Lanka, the board admitted that the Tigers can't do miracles but remained hopeful for a better performance.
"We have three more matches left. We are not going to perform miracles in these matches. But we can do it. I strongly believe it is still possible. Winning or losing is not a big deal, playing good cricket is important. Our batters are struggling. That's what I told them; they needed to fight back. Allow them to express themselves. They appear to be more serious now. Thinking about ways to improve it. There is no other option except to hope,” he added.
