Bangladesh Emerging suffer series defeat against Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Emerging won the series decider against Bangladesh Emerging in Dambulla by five wickets on Sunday as the hosts reached the target of 224 runs with 112 balls to spare.
Sri Lanka won the three-match ODI series 2-1. Bangladesh equalized the series by winning the second match.
Shahadat Hossain scored the highest 79 runs for Bangladesh on this day. Apart from this, Parvez Hossain, Pritam Kumar and Mahmudul Hasan Joy could not increase the innings even after reaching thirty. Among the bowlers, no one except Ripon Mandal could make much of an impact.
Bangladesh did not have a bad start as they lost the toss and batted in the first half of the match. Parvez and Pritam added 57 runs in the opening pair. Parvez scored 32 runs off 34 balls with 7 fours. Pritam played an innings of 35 runs with 2 sixes.
After that, Prantik Nawrose, the hero of the previous match's victory, disappointed. Joy and Shahadat made a pair of 67 runs for the fourth wicket. This pair broke when the skipper got out after scoring 37 runs in 4 fours.
Later, no one else could accompany Shahadat as the 21-year-old middle-order batter scored 79 off 75 balls with three fours and sixes before returning as the eighth batter.
During the chase, Pavan Rathnayake’s 85 off 56 took away the game from Bangladesh. Then Navod Paranavithana 47, captain Ahan Wickramasinghe 30 runs secured the victory easily for the hosts.
Ripon took 3 wickets for 43 runs in 8 overs, while Rishad Hossain took another 2 wickets.
After the one-day series, the two teams will fight in a four-day match. The first match will start next Wednesday at the same ground.
