Opener Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan Tamim broke a 24-year-old record with a 93-run opening stand against India in Pune today, the highest-ever opening partnership for Bangladesh in World Cups.
The openers broke Bangladesh's previous best of a 69-run opening stand between Mehrab Hossain Opi and Shahriar Hossain against Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup.

On that occasion, the Tigers went on to score a historic 62-run victory over Pakistan.

Bangladesh had a fantastic start today as Tanzid and Litton were both conservative at first, scoring only 10 runs off the opening five overs.
Then they lifted the scorecard in the following overs, dealing in boundaries and scoring at a furious clip.
Tanzid went on to score his first ODI fifty off 41 deliveries before being caught in front off a Kuldeep Yadav delivery to conclude his 43-ball 51-run innings.
Litton took Ravindra Jadeja on with the spin but has ended up hitting a dolly to long-off as he returned to the pavilion for 66 off 82 deliveries.
