India opener Shubman Gill is the ICC Men's Player of the Month for September 2023 after dominating a stretch of ODIs ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Gill, who is yet to make World Cup debut, held off teammate Mohammed Siraj and England opener Dawid Malan to claim the award after compiling 480 ODI runs at an average of 80 during September.

However, India captain Rohit Sharma has revealed Gill has recovered from his illness and is likely to be available to return to the side for Saturday's blockbuster clash against Pakistan at World Cup.

Gill has missed the opening two matches of the tournament due to illness and was even admitted to a hospital in Chennai earlier this week to help with his recovery.
Rohit fronted the pre-match press conference ahead of the Pakistan clash on Friday and the India skipper was optimistic on Gill's fitness.
"99 percent he (Gill) is available. We'll see tomorrow (Saturday) about that." Rohit said.
