New Zealand captain Kane Williamson stated the Kiwis are prepared for Bangladesh’s spin challenge ahead of the upcoming match on October 13 at Chennai.
Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium will feature a spin-friendly track, offering ample turn for spinners which will be favorable for both the teams. Williamson said they are aware that the spinners will have an advantage on the wickets.
“We are aware that we will have a tough challenge tomorrow (because of the Bangladesh spinners). All teams are equal in ICC tournaments, anyone can beat anyone. Here you have to play in different venues, the conditions are constantly changing, different conditions have different challenges,” said Williamson in the press conference.

“It plays a big role. As we all know Chennai has an extra advantage for spinners. I know both teams have quite a few quality spinners who will play an important role in tomorrow's match. But we have only one job to play according to plan, to play to our best,”

Williamson also acknowledged that Bangladesh has consistently proven to be a strong side in the subcontinent and said that any team can beat each other in the tournament.
“Bangladesh is quite familiar with the conditions of the subcontinent. They have many match winners. But I will reiterate that anyone can beat anyone in ICC tournaments. Every team will be challenging. Playing well as a team is the key here because the tournament is so long. So we will try to give our best,” he added.
Captain Williamson also confirmed to be available against the Bangladesh match after missing the first two matches.
“My rehabilitation process has progressed rapidly. I was thrilled to see my name on the World Cup squad. I am sitting here now. New venues, new opponents are always a challenge. I look forward to the challenge. The team is progressing well. I will play tomorrow,“ he added.
