England’s World Cup-winning former captain Eoin Morgan hailed Bangladesh captain and world’s ‘great’ all-rounder Shakib al Hasan before his team’s clash against Bangladesh on Tuesday in Dharamshala.
The defeat against Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup changed the mentality of the England cricket team as they have become the world's best in white ball cricket right now.

Limited over cricket has taken it to another level under the leadership of Morgan and helped to win the 2019 World Cup.

Bangladesh could not stand up against England in Cardiff in the last World Cup but this time with Shakib’s experience and his young guns could trouble The Three Lions in tomorrow’s match, said Morgan.
“He's an unbelievable campaigner when it comes to performance. He's always regarded as one of the best all-rounders in the world, and he proves that up with performance and continuously producing consistent performances. This is his fifth World Cup. There aren't many current players who have played in five World Cups. So that the longevity in which he shows alongside performance makes him one of the great all-rounders,” Morgan explained to the journalists in Dharamshala.
Young players like Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Najmul Hasan Shanto helped Shakib to beat Afghanistan in their first game and Morgan believes if young stars continue to do that, it will help to hold up Shakib’s performance and his leadership in tomorrow's game.
“Historically, of when Bangladesh won games, they do look at their bigger name players. I think one of the positives against Afghanistan is their youngsters stood up. Shanto-Miraz really did take a lot of pressure away from any that was being applied. And it's normally left to the more experienced guys when you do have a tricky chase, a shorter chase. We saw it in the Indian game yesterday. Two very experienced campaigners taking on responsibility and soaking up the pressure and getting your team over the line, which is exactly what they did. So that will help the like of Shakib’s performance and his leadership in tomorrow's game if they continue to stand up here,” he added.
