“Congratulations Bangladesh. A good start. Keep marching strong boys. One game at a time.” Tamim wrote on his Facebook profile.

A round of segment happened before the World Cup as Tamim was dropped from the 2023 World Cup squad as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials cited a persistent back injury as the reason for his exclusion. However, Tamim claimed he was even suggested to skip the first match against Afghanistan or bat in the middle order, a position unfamiliar to him.

This unexpected proposition left Tamim feeling uncomfortable and forced, leading him to request the selectors to drop him from the squad.

Before going to the World Cup Shakib in a TV interview lashed out at Tamim, calling his behavior 'childish' and stating that he would not want a player who is not fully fit in Bangladesh's World Cup squad. Shakib also revealed that Tamim refused to bat at No 3 in today’s match against Afghanistan, which further fueled the feud between the two players.

Meanwhile, Mobile financial service provider ‘Nagad’ released a joint video featuring Shakib and Tamim on Tuesday before the World Cup.

Shakib and Tamim, in the video, call for raising voices for Bangladesh again. At one point in the video, the duo reminisced memories on and off the field. And at the end, both join hands and promise to make Bangladesh proud in the World Cup. They call on the whole country to rise up as one.

After this video the spat between these two star players’ fan base have calmed down and all came together to support the Tigers.
