TICK TOCK!....TICK TOCK! The 13th edition of the most anticipated Cricket World Cup is just hours away to begin. Here, Cricfrenzy lists the bowlers to watch out for in the upcoming tournament.
Trent Boult
New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult reversed his decision to retire and made a comeback to the Black Caps squad last month. Boult believed it was not easy to find a spot in the World Cup but he remained optimistic about his chances and looked forward to the opportunity.
Boult was exceptional in the recent ODI series against Bangladesh and England. At The Oval, he took 5 wickets for 51 runs against defending champions England.
Boult has the ability to bowl accurately during the powerplay overs and is also proficient in death bowling. With his vast experience in playing in major tournaments, Boult can be a valuable asset to New Zealand's World Cup campaign.
Shaheen Afridi
Pakistan’s left-arm paceman Shaheen Afridi has been in top form since his return from a knee injury that he suffered in the last T20 World Cup.

Since his return, Afridi has taken 24 wickets in 12 matches, including a devastating four-wicket haul in a Group A clash against India at the Asia Cup in August, in which he dismissed both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Taskin Ahmed
Bangladesh spearhead Taskin Ahmed will lead one of the best pace unit in the team's history along with star pacer Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
This would be his second World Cup appearance as he last played under the captaincy of Mashrafe Mortaza however he was ruled out in 2019's mega event with injury.
The 28-year-old has picked up nine wickets in four matches in the Asia Cup also the highest for his side.
Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav has been exceptional in the 50-overs format this year, taking 33 wickets as a wrist-spinner, which could prove to be crucial for the hosts.
The 28-year-old became the fastest to take 150 ODI wickets during the Asia Cup. He was named Player of the Series at the Asia Cup. He can be a huge threat and heavy pressure on batters to score.
Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc is a big match player and he is definitely one of the bowlers to look out for in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Mitchell Starc was rested for the ODI series against India to prepare for the upcoming World Cup. However, he made a strong comeback with a hat-trick in the warm-up match against the Netherlands.
Starc, along with Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood are the most feared bowling trio in world cricket.
