Stand-in captain Litton Das and opener Tamim Iqbal have sought rest from the third and final ODI of the ongoing series against New Zealand, a source of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Sunday.
The hosts lost to the Kiwis by 86 runs in the second ODI yesterday after the first match was washed out by rain.

Litton could not contribute in that way with the bat. He got out for just 6 runs. The 28-year-old told BCB that he is not feeling well at all. As a result, he asked to rest from this match before the World Cup in order to stay healthy.

As regular captain Shakib is also absent, someone else may be named as the acting captain for the series decider on 26th.
On the other hand, left-handed opener Tamim’s comeback match was moderate as he scored 44 runs in the second ODI. But still with some discomfort, the experienced opener is looking to return to the World Cup after a full recovery.
According to BCB sources, pacer Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam are returning to the team in the third ODI. They were rested at the start of the series.
