Sujon: I don’t know why they don’t want to retire from the field

Opener Tamim Iqbal has been suffering from back problems for a long time, due to this injury he could not play in the Asia Cup.
It may not be wrong to say that this injury also played a role in leaving the ODI captaincy. After recovering from that injury, he returned to the field in the first match against New Zealand Thursday. However, the he didn’t get the chance to bat due to rain, which was forced to called off the match.

That happened today [Saturday] in the second ODI. Tamim seems to have passed that test well as the former captain played an innings of 44 runs off 58 balls.

Although the innings was not that big, Tamim indicated to return to the rhythm with this innings. Tamim himself is excited to be back but there is also concern about his back pain.
“To be honest it feels good to be back. 30 overs in the first match, after fielding 50 overs today, batting 20 overs, feels good. But there is still a lot of discomfort in the back. Physio and me are trying to get rid of this discomfort. I am discussing with our medical team about this” Tamim said in the post-match press conference.
Tamim confessed that he was nervous today at the first during his batting.
“To be honest, I was nervous.. When I came out to bat, I was nervous. But after the first over it reduced. It feels good to hit the ball again. Not because I scored 44 runs, even if I scored 20 runs, the way I faced the new ball, the way I faced the quality pace attack, I definitely feel good. Any batsman will have a bit of nervousness after such a long time, I am no different,” Tamim added.
