World renowned commentator Mike Haysman wants Bangladesh to play as a unit rather than any individual excellence in the upcoming World Cup in India.

This former top order batter of Australia has been regularly seen commentating in Pakistan since 1996. He also went to India and Sri Lanka several times to give commentary.

This Australian has come to Bangladesh for the first time for the ongoing Bangladesh New Zealand three match ODI series.

Haysman, while talking to the media during the second ODI on Saturday, said he is looking forward to watch Bangladesh play as a unit because that’s what wins World Cups.

“I'd like to see them play as a unit, play really well as a unit and I think that's something that the coaching staff wants as well, speaking to Nic Pothas, speaking to Allan Donald, I think to see the guys play as a unit is the most important thing, and to play together as a team and support each other and they know they've got their specific roles. And I know that's something. They're working really hard to ensure that they do. They've got some very talented individuals. We know that, but get together and play really well as a unit. That's what wins World Cups and that's what makes teams progress nicely,” said Haysman to the media.

The Australian worked as a commentator in the 2003 World Cup at his home country. Bangladesh also played in that tournament but a lot have improved since then. Haysman remarked that now there is a ‘belief’ makes a big difference in the Tigers camp.

“The whole lot has made a difference. There's belief now there's belief that they can play well and they can actually do a nice job. So I think that's what makes a big difference, and that's really important”
