World Cup-winning coach Dav Whatmore has joined Fortune Barishal as the head coach for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
The franchise on Wednesday took to social media to confirm the appointment of the new head coach. It will be his second stint as he previously worked with the franchise in 2016.

The Sri Lankan-born Australian cricket coach and former cricketer has vast coaching experience, he has also worked with Bangladesh national cricket team in 2005.
The 67-year-old’s biggest achievement came when Sri Lanka won the 1996 ODI World Cup during his tenure. He played in seven Test matches and a single one-day international before moving into coaching.
Whatmore has also taken a role in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He joined the team in 2010 but stepped down the very next year.
