Host Pakistan beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the last phase of the Asia Cup in Pakistan as the Tigers started the Super Four stage with a defeat.
Opener Imam-ul-Haq and wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan both hit fifties to lead Pakistan to chase down the low total as Imam scored 78, while Rizwan was unbeaten for 63 runs.
Chasing 194, Tiger pacer Shoriful Islam trapped Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman lbw in the 10th over to give the Tigers their first breakthrough.
Then skipper Babar Azam joined Imam but Taskin Ahmed castled Babar for 17 runs off 22 balls in the 16th over. Babar played on a full-length delivery onto the stumps to leave Pakistan two down for 74 after the end of the 16th over.
Imam and Rizwan then made a solid 85 runs partnership before the opener was bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Rizwan and Agha Salman (12) finished the game with 63 balls in hand.

Pakistan's express pacers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah shared seven wickets to bundle Bangladesh out
Bangladesh opted to bat first and made a shaky start losing four wickets in the first powerplay. Naseem made the first blow for Pakistan by dismissing last-match centurion Miraz for a golden duck.
Litton Das also failed to impress on his return as he departed on 16 runs stitching a partnership of 31 runs with opener Naim Sheikh. Following that, left-handed opener Naim scored 20 off 25 before being removed by Haris Rauf.
Haris then castled Towhid Hridoy (2) to complete 50th ODI wickets leaving Bangladesh on 47-4.
Then, skipper Shakib al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim piled up 100 runs for the fifth wicket steadied the innings as both the batters struck half-centuries until Shakib was dismissed off Faheem Ashraf with a catch to Fakhar Zaman.
Mushfiqur Rahim scored 64 for his 46th half-century while skipper Shakib hit 53, but once their stand of 100 for the fifth wicket was broken, Bangladesh's innings faltered.
Shakib hit seven boundaries in his 53-ball innings while Mushfiq cracked five boundaries in his 87-ball knock.
Rauf returned for his second spell and ended Mushfiq's brilliant knock by having the senior batsman caught behind in the 38th over and then got Taskin Ahmed in the same manner for nought.
Naseem wrapped up the innings by dismissing Afif Hossain (12) and Shoriful Islam (one), ending the innings in 38.4 overs.
