As the ODI World Cup 2023 approaches, a devastating fire broke out in one of the dressing rooms of the Eden Gardens located in Kolkata.
According to a report in the local newspaper, the fire broke out around 11:50 pm during the renovation work in the dressing room.
The iconic Eden Gardens will host the five games including the high-voltage semi-final 2, scheduled to be played on Thursday, November 16.
Apart from the knockout match, the game between England and Pakistan and India and South Africa are the other games that will be taking place at the iconic venue.
The World Cup will be played from October 5 to November 19. Ten cricket stadiums will be hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
The World Cup kicks off with a repeat of the 2019 Final as England will take on New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
