Towhid Hridoy returned to Dhaka on Wednesday after playing his successful campaign Lankan Premier League (LPL). Hridoy played for the first time and six matches there for the reigning champions of the tournament Jaffna Kings.
The right-handed batter scored 155 runs in 6 innings at an average of 38.75 and a strike rate of 135.96 with solitary fifty. Hridoy is number 3 in the list of highest run-scorers in the tournament so far, two above him are Pakistan's Babar Azam (235) and New Zealand's Tim Seifert (161).
The U19 World Cup winning player is very happy to maintain the form of the national team in the franchise league as well.

“It was a new experience for me. I enjoyed it a lot. Learned a lot. Hopefully, it will be useful in the future,” talking about the experience of playing in the franchise league for the first time, he told the media at the academy building of Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium today.
The Asia Cup will start on August 30 between Nepal and Pakistan. It is supposed to be an advantage for Hridoy playing in the Sri Lankan field as he is positive about it.
“Maybe (advantage) will be. How to do on that particular day is the challenge. I have been there, played there, got an idea about the wicket. A little help will be for me and for the team,” Hridoy said.
Bangladesh's Shakib al Hasan is also playing in the LPL for Galle Titans. In one of the league matches against Jaffna Kings, Hridoy hit a unique six at mid-wicket from Shakib’s bowl.
Hridoy shared a story of what South African star and his team mate David Miller said when he saw the shot, “Miller was appreciating me again and again. Especially the six I hit on Shakib bhai, not only Miller, the whole team was saying, what a shot (laughs)! Miller said, ‘This is the shot of the day’. Even after the match, Miller spoke a lot about my batting. He heard from me how I do what I do.”
