Hridoy ends LPL on high note, Shakib fails to deliver

After losing to Dambulla Aura on Monday the current Lanka Premier League (LPL) champions Jaffna Kings bounced back and won against Colombo Strikers by six wickets on Tuesday.
Two openers Nishan Madushka (46) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz's (39) excellent two innings laid the foundation of victory for Jaffna. Then came Bangladesh starboy Towhid Hridoy, who played his last game today for this edition, led them to victory.

Earlier in the day, the young batter, who got a golden duck, entered the field in the 13th over after as Jaffna needed 19 runs from 43 balls to win.
Hridoy didn't take long as he hit Matheesha Pathirana for four in the first two balls of the next over. Then in the third ball of the 15th over, he hit Naseem Shah for a boundary at deep backward point to seal the win in Jaffna. Hridoy was unbeaten on 14 runs off 9 balls with three fours.
Earlier, Dilshan Madushanka and Dunith Wellalage took two wickets each to limit Colombo to 146 for 8.
After 6 matches with this win, Jaffna is in third place with 6 points behind in run rate with B-Love Kandy and Dambulla.
Earlier today, Galle Titans all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan struggled to make an impact with bat and ball against Kandy as he managed to score 12-ball 11 runs that featured a solitary boundary and conceded 31 runs in his three overs with the ball. Kandy gave 204 runs target and won by 89 runs.
