Brian Lara has been replaced as the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by New Zealander Daniel Vettori.
From 2014 to 2018, Vettori served as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Most recently, he served as the men's team assistant coach for Australia.
Prior to the 2023 IPL season, Lara took over as the Sunrisers' head coach in place of Tom Moody, however the team finished last (tenth) with four victories and ten defeats.

According to the most recent information, Moody (2019 and 2022), Trevor Bayliss (2020 and 2021), and Lara (2023) will lead Sunrisers before Vettori. The last time Sunrisers made the IPL playoffs was in 2020.
Vettori is currently head coach of the Birmingham Phoenix men's team at the Hundred, and since May 2022 has been with the Australia men's national side.
He has also previously worked as a spin-bowling consultant with the Bangladesh men's team.
In his previous stint as head coach in the IPL, Vettori helped RCB get into the playoffs in 2015 and the final in 2016 where, incidentally, they lost to Sunrisers.
