Afghanistan named a strong 18-member squad for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan that will be played in Sri Lanka.
In order to perfect the final lineup for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in India later this year, Noor Ahmad returned into Afghanistan's ODI team.
Noor's return means that there was no room for left-arm spinner Zia Ur Rahman Akbar, who recently made his ODI debut against Bangladesh. Uncapped leg-spinner Izharulhaq Naveed, who was part of the Test squad, has been left out.

Fast bowlers Wafadar Momand and Mohammad Saleem Safi, who participated in the most recent ODI tour to Bangladesh, have been able to keep their spots.
