Sri Lanka cricketer Lahiru Thirimane on Saturday announced his retirement from International cricket with immediate effects.
Thirimane took to social media to announce his decision, he wrote, “ Absolute honor to have the opportunity to represent the country. Thanks a lot for the 13 years of amazing memories and well wishes thru out my journey. See you on the other side,”

The left-hander also expressed his gratitude towards everyone who played a part in his career, including the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) members, his coaching staff, teammates, physios, trainers, analysts and fans.
Thirimanne had an illustrious career, playing in 44 Test matches where he accumulated 2088 runs with an average of 26.4 with three centuries and 10 half-centuries.
In the One Day International (ODI) format, he played 127 matches, scoring 3194 runs at an average of 34.7, including four hundreds and 21 fifties.
He also donned the Sri Lankan jersey for 26 T20 Internationals, making 291 runs.
