Bangladesh A suffered a 51-run defeat against India A in the semifinal of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Friday.

Despite a brilliant start, Bangladesh collapsed like a pack of cards and managed to put 160-10 in 34.2 overs while chasing 212 runs.

At one stage in the game, Bangladesh were on 70-1, but they lost two more batsmen who reached three figures, and the batting debacle began when they lost the fourth wicket 123-4.

Tanzid Tamim hit another fifty in the tournament and top-scored with 51 off 56 balls and Mohammad Naim scored second highest with 38 runs.

Nishant Sindhu picked up a fifer and Manaz Suthar took three wickets for India.

Earlier, Tiger bowlers Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Rakibul Hasan and Mahedi Hasan each picked up two wickets to rattle down India’s batting lineup as they managed to post 211-10 in 49.1 overs.

India A skipper Yash Dhull played a fighting knock and scored an 85-ball 66 to take his side's total beyond the 200-run mark after they were slumped to 91 runs for four wickets.

Nikin Jose survived a controversial stumping off Rakibul during the 13.4 over, when he was batting on 9 runs. However, he could not capitalize on the second chance as he was dismissed on 17 by skipper Saif Hasan.

Dhull was returned by Ripon Mondal and India’s innings eventually came to an end when they were bundled out in the 50th over.
