Bangladesh Women’s team head coach Hashan Tilakaratne reckoned that captain Nigar Sultana Joty is doubtful for the last and series decider match against India.
Bangladesh suffered another blow as Shorna Akhtar has been ruled out of the third match after missing out on the second match due to illness.
During the press conference head coach of the women's team declared the exclusion of Shorna but remained hopeful for Joty’s recovery.
“Shorna is unfit at the moment. Joty is still not fully fit. There will be a fitness test tomorrow. Then we will decide in the morning and yes we are working on our middle order,” said Tilakaratne.

“It’s a bit of concern. We are not getting enough singles in the middle overs. We have discussed it. I am sure, we will come back strong in the last match to correct the mistakes,” he said.

Bangladesh lost the second ODI by massive 108 runs after registering a maiden ODI win over India in the first ODI by 40 runs. The coach was confident to turn around in the series-deciding match.
“Girls are confident. The second match did not go according to expectations. After that we had many discussions. We have come up with some plans, now it is their responsibility to perform. Cricketers are very confident. Hopefully, will turn around with a good performance tomorrow,” he added.
India batter Smriti Mandhana lauded Bangladesh's performance throughout the series and said they are well prepared for the third ODI and won’t take the Tigress lightly.
“Bangladesh have played a very good brand of cricket this whole tour, from the T20s as well as the one days. And I'm sure that they'll be coming hard at us, so we won't take anything for granted. We are preparing as much as we prepared for every match,” said Mandhana.
“I think the deciding factor definitely has been batting for us. As well as I think bowling and fielding, I think we have to be good in all three departments to beat them. So yeah, we are not taking anything lightly. We are just working on ourselves as a team, how we can improve and hopefully, we can seal the series tomorrow,” she added.
