Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by six wickets in the second Twenty20 international to take the two-match series 2-0 on Sunday.
Bangladesh won the opening match of the series by two wickets on Friday, and Sunday's follow-up, both of them in the northeastern city of Sylhet -- earned them their fourth consecutive T20 series win, and their first against Afghanistan in three attempts.
Tigers’ previous win was against Ireland and whitewashed world champions England at home. Another win came against the United Arab Emirates last September.
This year, they have played eight matches, won seven of them. Bangladesh have won more matches in a calendar year than this once. In 2021 they have won 11 out of 27 matches.

In the post-match press conference, the words of that relief came up in captain Shakib al Hasan’s voice.

"Obviously it's a relief when what we're trying to do works or the plans works, that reflected on the field and the cricketers are able to execute accordingly and get results, what could be better than that," Shakib said.
"Our job is on the field, to perform, try to contribute for the team and play as a team, that's what we're trying to do" he added.
Before this series, Bangladesh had won 3 matches and Afghanistan had 6 wins. With the sharp bowling attack of the Afghans, the challenge of defeating them in these conditions was very difficult.
Player of the match and series Shakib also revealed about the feeling of being able to win that challenge.
“Sure feels good. We were not very good in T20s with Afghanistan before this series. To be able to win a series like this, especially in such conditions, I think this win will give us more motivation going forward for better results."
