Shakib al Hasan means milestone as he bagged so many records in his nearly 17-year career in international cricket. However, Shakib always put the team before his personal goals but when the stage is the World Cup, it becomes Shakib’s show from the 2019 World Cup. Like the last World Cup, this time also he wants to do something great in the extravaganza.
The desire to contribute to the team means he has to perform. Shakib was asked during the pre T20I series press conference against Afghanistan that if he is eyeing any particular number at his performance. The Southpaw scored 606 runs and 11 wickets in the last ODI World Cup, said that his dream is big this time too.
“There is no such number, which I want. But when the World Cup comes, I definitely want big numbers." said Shakib.

Last game, one such milestone was a unique one as the poster boy of Bangladesh cricket became the only cricketer in history to register 14000 runs and 600 wickets in international cricket.

Shakib, who had already scalped over 600 wickets in international cricket but had 13,971 international runs to his name at the start of the third ODI against Afghans, reached the milestone.
With 305 wickets, he joined New Zealand icon Daniel Vettori as the second-highest left-arm spinner in ODI wicket-taking.
After the last milestone, Shakib's reaction was revealed on Thursday.
“Any milestone is definitely motivating. If something like this happens, you will definitely feel good about yourself, more motivation to do better. But maybe after retirement I'll understand how good it feels,”
"But what I always say is that I want to contribute to the team and because I have two sides (batting and bowling) and being able to contribute in both ends, it's definitely something I enjoy." Shakib added.
