Stand-in captain Litton Das believes the consolation win in the third and final ODI against Afghanistan will boost his side in the forthcoming three-match T20I series.

Litton top-scored with 53 not out as Bangladesh defeated visitors by seven wickets to avoid a series whitewash in Tuesday in Chittagong.

Following the ODI series are two T20s in Bangladesh's northeastern city of Sylhet on July 14 and 16.

"Before the T20I series, this win helped the boys. Definitely confident going into the T20Is," said Liton during a post-match presentation ceremony today.

The hosts raced to 129-3 in 23.3 overs after Shoriful Islam's career best 4-21 helped them bowl out Afghanistan for 126 in 45.2 overs.

Litton gave full credit to his bowlers for the easy win to cap off what was otherwise a disappointing series for the home side.

"They did a good job. Shoriful [Islam] and Taskin [Ahmed] used the new ball well, the spinners bowled well in the middle overs as well. All credit to the bowlers."

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi expressed his satisfaction over the performance of his team in the series.

"I am very happy with the series performance. Tough for us today, we were not complacent and will learn from the loss. Bangladesh played well, putting us under pressure right from the beginning. Special thanks to the Afghanistan fans, they support us everywhere we go."

Afghanistan are already only the second team to win an ODI series in Bangladesh in the past seven years, with world champions England being the other.

Victory in the match would have made them the first side to win all three matches of an ODI series in Bangladesh since Sri Lanka in 2014.
