Bangladesh won the third and final ODI by seven wickets against Afghanistan to avoid whitewash at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Afghans clinched the series 2-1.
Following back-to-back losses and the controversy surrounding Tamim Iqbal's retirement, the Tigers meant business on the day and controlled all aspects of play under the leadership of bowler Shoriful Islam, who claimed a four-wicket haul.
The departure of Naim Sheikh, who once again failed to impress as he left for nothing off eight balls, was an early blow, who were attempting to chase a small target.
Later in form Nazmul Hossain Shanto also returned cheaply with 11 runs.
However, the match was won by the home team thanks to a 61-run third-wicket stand between Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan.

Following Shakib's dismissal after scoring 39 runs on a run-a-ball, Litton went on to reach his 10th ODI half-century.

Towhid Hridoy (22 off 19 not out) was a strong supporter of the Bangladesh stand-in skipper as the Tigers easily won with 159 balls to spare, which was their fifth-highest margin of victory in terms of the number of balls left in the second innings.
Starting on Friday, July 14, the two teams will travel to Sylhet to compete in a two-match T20I series.
Earlier, Bangladesh bowlers rattled Afghanistan's batting line-up as they were bundled for 126 in 45.2 overs.
Shoriful Isalm picked up two consecutive overs in the third over, then Taskin Ahmed removed Gurbaz (6), who had scored 145 in the last match, with a short ball.
Shoriful had his third when he removed Mohammad Nabi (1) with an LBW before Shakib Al Hasan took care of Najibullah Zadran (10) and castled Abdul Rahman to hunt his fourth down. The visitors were slumped to 32-5 in 16 overs.
Shakib returned figures of 1-13 which is also second joint-cheapest bowling figures for Bangladesh (10 overs bowled). The other two 3-11 (vs Zim, 2009) and 1-13 (vs Scotland, 2006), also belong to Shakib.
With this wicket, Shakib completed 305 wickets ad moved to the second spot alongside New Zealand's Daniel Vettori in the list of left-arm spinners for most ODI wickets.
Azmatullah Omarzai top-scored with 56 runs which saved the day for Afghanistan, he struck one four and three sixes. Captain Shahidi scored 22 off 54 including four boundaries.
Afghanistan clinched the ODI series ensuring a formidable lead 2-0 in the three-match ODI series. The visitors beat Bangladesh by 17 runs (D/L Method) in the first match and 142 runs in the second ODI.
