India named young faces as Kohli-Rohit omitted in T20 squad for WI series

India has selected a young-looking T20I side for the August series against West Indies. For the T20I portion of the West Indies trip, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma were called up to the Indian team, while the seniors, such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, continued to be left out.
Sanju Samson returned to the team as the wicketkeeper, and Mukesh Kumar, who was also selected for the Test and ODI squads, received a call-up for the T20Is.
With Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel still available as spin options, Ravi Bishnoi rejoined the team. The team has not included Ravindra Jadeja.

Tilak Varma, who had a fantastic IPL season, beat out Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had initially been selected for the T20Is for the New Zealand series.

Jaiswal, who was also in great nick in the IPL, gets in and could be in line to open the batting alongside Shubman Gill.
Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, Mukesh and Arshdeep Singh form the pace department with Hardik Pandya expected to chip in with a few overs of pace himself after he returned to bowling fitness during the IPL.
