Former England skipper Eoin Morgan along with legendary Indian woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami and Heather Knight have joined the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Committee, the club said on Monday.

This independent cricket committee consists of former and current international cricketers, umpires and officials.

In 2019, Morgan led England ended their long wait to win the ODI World Cup in men's cricket.

Alastair Cook, a former English captain resigned from the committee in order to focus on his playing career's final years, and Morgan replaced him on the 14-person committee.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jhulan, Heather and Eoin to the World Cricket committee. These are three players who have excelled at the very top of the international game and their knowledge of how the elite level of cricket works will be an advantage to the committee," Mike Gatting, the committee's chair, said in a statement.

"It is also important that we are growing the female representation on the committee with the growth that women's cricket has enjoyed in recent years. Jhulan and Heather join Clare Connor and Suzie Bates who can all offer first-hand insight into the women's game" he added.

Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, joined the MCC's cricket committee in 2017. The world's best all-rounder, though, resigned from the committee after the ICC in 2019 handed him a two-year suspension.
