Bangladesh are set to host Sri Lanka in February for multi-format series, so the BCB has to finish the tournament within the allotted time.
Previously, BCB had announced that the BPL would commence on 6 January 2024. However, due to the uncertainty surrounding the election date, the BPL schedule was reevaluated.
Due to tight schedules, the franchises might fail to attract overseas's cricketers also there are several tournaments going on at the same time. But BCB ensured the participating teams will get additional time to prepare the team.
"We have to finish the game by February as we have the Sri Lanka series after that. And we will finish the player draft in September. So that each group gets enough time to organize themselves,” he added.
