Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque’s eye-catching performances in the only Test against Afghanistan is reflected in the updated ICC ranking. In the announced ranking on Wednesday both left-hander batters Shanto has advanced 25 steps, while Mominul progressed 17 steps.
Bangladesh won by a record margin of 546 runs against Afghans in Mirpur last Saturday. Shanto scored centuries in both innings, played two great innings of 146 and 124 runs. The Southpaw is now ranked 54th in the weekly update of the ICC rankings.
After breaking the century drought of 26 innings in red-ball games, Mominul scored unbeaten 121 runs in the second innings. The former captain of Bangladesh is in 53rd place, one step above Shanto.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Ebadat Hossain Chowdhury and Shoriful Islam have improved in the ranking of bowlers.
