Sri Lanka have added spin-bowling all-rounder Dunith Wellalage, fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka and uncapped batter Sahan Arachchige to their squad as injury covers for the ongoing ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023.
The trio will join the senior squad on June 23 and be available for selection in case of injury to any player during the World Cup Qualifiers.

Madushanka and Wellalage have played a total of 23 matches and have a fair bit of experience at the international level. The 20-year-old Wellalage was also the skipper of Sri Lanka in the U19 World Cup 2022 in the West Indies.
Arachchige is yet to appear for the national colours but has been a prolific run-scorer in Sri Lanka’s domestic cricket. The 27-year-old has played 66 List A matches.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka got their Cricket World Cup Qualifiers campaign started on a high note, beating UAE (United Aram Emirates) by 175 runs in the opening game.
Sri Lanka are next set to lock horns with Zeeshan Maqsood’s Oman in their second Group B match on June 23.
