Bangladesh acting captain Litton Das was delighted for winning the one-off Test match by the largest margin win in the century. The captain was ‘happy’ and credited everyone for the emphatic 546-run win against Afghanistan.
Earlier in 2005, Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by 226 runs in Chittagong, which was Bangladesh's biggest win in Test cricket.
Meanwhile, this win at Mirpur Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium is the third-highest margin win over any team in the history of Test cricket and the biggest in the last 89 years in the format.

In 1928, England defeated Australia by 675 runs and Australia beat England by 562 runs at The Oval in 1934 and Bangladesh’s win against Afghanistan is in the third highest margin of victory.

At the end of the match, Litton said, 'You can't win by such a big margin easily, you have to give credit to everyone. It's a big achievement, you can't ask for a bigger margin of victory as a captain, I'm very happy,”
Litton also praised the team for showing character despite the extreme hot weather in Dhaka.
"I am very happy with the way the boys played this game. The weather was very hot and it's not easy in such weather. Credit goes to our batters, especially Shanto alongside Mahmudul Hasan Joy. Zakir [Hasan] and Mominul also batted well in the second innings. Our bowlers also did a great job in this hot weather, so it's good to see," said Litton.
Bangladesh scored 382 runs in the first innings and bowled out Afghanistan for 146. Then Bangladesh declared their second innings on 425-4, setting a record target of 662 runs.
Chasing a mammoth 661 runs, Afghanistan, who started the fourth day on 45-2, could add only 70 runs to their overnight total as the Tigers skittle out Afghans for 115 runs.
