Bangladesh women's cricket team got off to a great start by defeating Malaysia by 97 runs in the opening match of the Emerging Asia Cup. Batting first, Lata Mondal's team scored 148 runs. In response, Malaysia's innings stopped at 51 runs in 20 overs.
After winning the toss and batting first, Bangladesh set Malaysia a target of 149 runs at the Mission Road ground in Hong Kong.
The target was quite difficult for Malaysia. They can score 51 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs in the controlled bowling of Bangladesh bowlers.
Maximum 13 runs came from the bat of Ainna Hamizah Hashim. Batting at number six, this Malaysian batter remained unbeaten and saw her team’s collapse. An 11-run innings came from the bats of Mas Elysa and Christina Barret.
