The only Test will between Bangladesh and Afghanistan will start on Wednesday at Mirpur’s Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Before the match, the wicket naturally comes up for discussion.
Spin-strong Afghans, who came to Bangladesh sans Rashid Khan saw the presence of fresh grass on the wicket.
Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi said at the press conference after the practice of the Afghan team, whatever the wicket is, they are thinking about their preparation.

"We saw the pitch today [Monday]. They made it a bit green. That's fine for us. We have good pacers, good spinners. We will think about our strengths, what we have, what we need to work on. We are ready for anything," said Shahidi on Monday.
Bangladesh have played only one Test against Afghanistan so far. Bangladesh faced an embarrassing defeat of 224 runs in that rain-hit match in Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in September 2019.
Shakib Al Hasan expressed his dissatisfaction with the wicket from the first day of that match, the captain said at the time that they did not get wickets as expected.
So this time the discussion about the wicket has been going from the beginning of the preparation as Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha was seen talking to curator Gamini Silva almost every day during practice.
