Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain stated that he is determined to secure the strong-contested number seven position in the national team.

BCB are trying to play a number of cricketers for number seven in the 50-over format. With several talented cricketers, including Afif Hossain, Mahmudullah Riyad, Yasir Ali Rabbi, and Mehedy Hasan, the right-arm spinner is also eyeing the spot for the coveted position.

Speaking about his aspirations to Crickfrenzy, Mosaddek stated, "The number seven position has long been discussed. I also play in that position, therefore I'm hoping to do well enough to take that spot and contribute significantly to the country. Now it's all about team management,"

“The management will decide who will be suitable for the place. I certainly hope that if the opportunity comes I can take it. The rest is the management's decision, they will give the opportunity to whoever they deem fit,” he said.

Mosaddek expressed gratitude for the compliment received from captain Shakib al Hasan. He also highlighted the challenges of filling the shoes of veteran all-rounder.

"It's difficult to find Shakib Bhai's replacement in international cricket. His contribution will not be forgotten. Getting such a compliment from a cricketer like him is a huge achievement for me. He's played so much cricket that he probably understands who deserves this spot. Of course, it will provide me with plenty of motivation. With 4-5 months until the World Cup, it will help me build myself up," he remarked.

Mosaddek stated that he is confident for another chance and is prepared to use his previous experience from the ODI World Cup 2019 and the T20 World Cup.

"I played a small role in the 2019 World Cup. Tried to do what the team desired. I'm confident because I participated in the T20 World Cup.  Of course, if the opportunity comes up I will make use of it," he added.
