Shakib Al Hasan cleared to bowl again after action assessment
12 hrs agoPakistan is the host of the Asia Cup 2023 but India is not willing to go and play there. Even after Pakistan's proposed a hybrid model. As both Pakistan-India countries are adamant about their position, the Asia Cup has become complicated.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon believes that if a neutral venue is chosen in the end, the Asia Cup is more likely to be held in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh was offered to host the subcontinent tournament but for the upcoming monsoon season BCB denied the proposal.
The ODI version of the Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Pakistan next September. But the schedule has not been finalized due to venue complications.

The Pakistan Cricket Board wanted to host the Asia Cup in a hybrid model. In that case Pakistan's games will be in their country. And India and other countries will play in United Arab Emirates. But Bangladesh and Sri Lanka did not respond to this proposal due to intense heat.

At the final of the physically challenged cricket tournament in Mirpur on Thursday, the BCB president talked to media about the situation.
"No decision has yet been made by the ACC regarding the Asia Cup, but it will be. It is difficult to say where it will be. As far as I know, there are two options. One is the hybrid model. Another is in a country. If it is a hybrid model, it will be in Pakistan and UAE. And if it is a single country it can be any country. But very likely, Sri Lanka has more chances. Bangladesh was also proposed. But since it will rain at that time. So we did not respond,” BCB boss said.
“The game will be an ODI. If it was T20 we could have taken a chance. In ODI, it seems that it will not be possible to play at that time. That's why when we were offered, we said it is not possible at that time” he added.
