Jamie Siddons will no longer work with the Bangladesh national team as he was working as a batting consultant for the Bangladesh national team. However, even if he does not work with the national team, he will work for Bangladesh 'A' and the Bangladesh Tigers team.

Siddons has taken this decision after discussing with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He announced his new responsibility through a status on social media platform.

“I won’t be working with the National team anymore as I feel my best value to BCB is working with the next generation to ensure the players just outside of the team are being well looked after and are improving each day in preparation for their next opportunity to play for their country,” Siddons wrote on Facebook.

“I love coaching the skills of the game to young players and so the BCB and I have made it happen. The glory is being with the National team and I love that, but most of the skill development, improvement and training takes place in the nets and heat when grinding it out in the nets at Mirpur,”

Siddons has worked with the Bangladesh team for two rounds. In October 2007, Siddons took over as the head coach of the Bangladesh national team for the first time. He resigned after the 2011 ODI World Cup.

He came to Bangladesh for the second term in February 2022. From the beginning, there was a plan to work on the country's pipeline alongside the national team, but it did not happen. Now it is going to see the light for BCB's demand and Siddons' desire.

“Looking forward to working with our future players with the A Team and the Tigers” he added on his status.

In December 2021, BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon said that former head coach Siddons has been appointed as BCB's batting consultant. He came to Bangladesh in February last year for his new role. Although he was BCB's batting consultant, his responsibility was only with the national team. As Ashwell Prince left, he was working as the batting coach of the national team.

BCB president said last August that Siddons will work more with cricketers outside the national team from now on. But in the meantime, he was working regularly with the national team. And now it is the end of his chapter in national team.
