Miraz eyes trophies with new Tigers of Bangladesh Cricket
15 Mar 25Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu stated that the team management will form a pool of 24 players for the World Cup 2023, and Mahmudullah Riyad, Afif Hossain, and Naim Sheikh are among the cricketers on the list.
BCB director Khaled Mahmud Sujon earlier expressed doubts about Mahmudullah's spot in the World Cup roster. However, Nannu did not provide a specific answer when asked if Mahmudullah was in the World Cup plan, stating, "We have 24 players in our pool, and all of them are being monitored. So, when we see the results, they will be taken into the team."
“Not one, we have 24 players in our pool. So there is no specific name here and everyone who is here is being monitored for the World Cup,” Nannu told the media.

Veteran Mahmudullah was rested for the ODI series against Ireland at home and was also left out of the squad for the upcoming ODI series against Ireland in England which drew cloud over his opportunity in the World Cup squad.
