Bangladesh star Litton Das flies to India on Sunday evening to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in his maiden India Premier League (IPL) campaign.

Litton is going to play this version with a lot of confidence. He scored 47 off 23 balls in the first match of the last T20 series against Ireland, followed by 83 off 41 balls in the next match. The atmosphere in franchise cricket, however, is different. However, the 28-year-old batsman wants to take advantage of the opportunity.

“Being an opener, you have to have confidence everywhere. But the team is a different team. Never played a franchise league like this before. If they give chance to play, I will definitely try to do well." Litton said in the airport before leaving.

Litton will miss his countryman Shakib in the dressing room.

“Of course it would be great if we could go together. Players from the same country, sharing the same dressing room, could’ve been very good. He might not be going for some reason,” Litton said to media.

Afghanistan star Rahmanullah Gurbaz is currently opening for Kolkata, he is also a keeper-batsman and opener like Litton. This Afghan was dismissed for 15 runs in Sunday's match. But he made fifty in the previous match, he made 22 from 16 balls in the first match. Kolkata recently added English opener Jason Roy to the squad to replace Shakib. So there is a tough competition for Litton.

Litton also knows this fact. So he is keeping his goals realistic. ODI World Cup in India next October-November. He wants to go to the IPL and bring ideas about the World Cup venues.

“I don't know if I'm going to play there and if I do, there's no guarantee that I will play good. But it is definitely a learning process. I will stay for like 20-25 days or less, I will try to get all the ideas from all the fields, which will help me in future” he added.

Kolkata's next match is next Friday, at home at Eden Gardens against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
