Bangladesh Women's team, competing in the Women's World Cup for the first time, won a historic match on Monday against Pakistan in Hamilton. Pakistan was defeated by 9 runs.
Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana praised her side's never-say-die approach.
"I cannot describe this in words because it's our first-ever win in a World Cup and this is history that we've made today here," Nigar said.

"We know Pakistan very well, we played each other so many times, in the qualifier also we beat them in the last over. Winning gives us confidence and this is the momentum we always wanted, we have a good side and already improving, we know that we are a very capable team," she added.

The skipper also mentioned that they will want to carry this momentum and win more matches in the tournament.
"We are looking forward to carrying this momentum throughout the tournament."
Bangladesh has so far played three games in the tournament. They were defeated by South Africa and New Zealand in their first two matches.
On Friday, they will face West Indies at Mount Maunganui, where the men's team won a historic Test match against New Zealand just a few months ago.
