Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan might skip the upcoming two-match Test series in South Africa as the cricketer is expected to participate in Indian Premier League (IPL). However, Bangladesh team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon wants Shakib to take part in the Test series which will be held in March.
Shakib, recently disclosed that he was considering retiring from Test format because it was getting difficult to play in all three formats. He had also skipped the New Zealand Test tour.
"I want Shakib to play in the Test series against South Africa. But he has his own thoughts and plans. He should sit with the board. Maybe he will discuss with the board soon whether he will play or not,” Sujon told the media on Thursday.

Shakib will take part in the three-match ODI series in South Africa which is scheduled to take place before the Test series.
“Shakib will play ODIs, but it’s still uncertain whether he will take part in Tests. The board will probably announce it in a few days,” he added.
The ODI series is a part of the ICC World Cup Super League, which is scheduled to be held between March 18 to 23.
The Test series will also be a part of the ICC World Test Championship with the first Test starting from March 31 and the second on April 8.
