The 23rd match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) witnessed a convincing win by CSK by 7 wickets.

Both teams made two changes each in their team. While Lungi and Moeen replaced Bravo and Tahir, Abhishek Sharma and Virat (Singh) missed out as Sandeep and Manish Pandey have returned in the playing eleven.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bat first as well. They didn't have a good start as in-form opener Jonny Bairstow fell for a mere 7. However, Manish Pandey and David Warner steadied the ship soon after.

They posted 39 runs in the powerplay. Later, Pandey took on Moeen Ali for a six in the second ball of the 10th over when got under the ball and sent it over mid-wicket. Slowly they managed to put up 69 runs after the halfway mark. Stunning bowling from CSK restricted them quite well in the middle as they couldn't pace up things.

However, Manish Pandey scored a fifty off 35 balls and soon Warner hit his 200th IPL sixes as well. He registered his 50th fifty in IPL but couldn't contribute much as he fell for 57. Soon, Manish too fell for 61.

Kane Williamson came in the middle and tried to score quickly as they were 138 for 3 after the 18th over. However, he started with a boundary of the penultimate over. Soon he smacked a six over deep extra cover, followed by two boundaries more and scored 20 runs in the over as well. Meanwhile, Kedar Jadhav smashed a six off Sam Curran and they ended up scoring 171 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs.

While chasing, CSK got off to a flying start with in-form openers - Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis. Their quickfire scoring saw that they added 50 runs within the powerplay. Both of them took on every player and hit out of the perk too.

Soon, du Plessis hit Suchith for a SIX by coming down to the pitch and lofted it over long-on as well. They posted 91 runs after 10 overs. Soon, he scored a convincing fifty off 32 balls - his third consecutive fifty as well. The next over saw another comfortable fifty from Gaikwad who reached the target with a boundary.

He also scored two more boundaries in the same over and took the charge. However, his onslaught came to an end Rashid Khan successfully broke the 129-run stand. He bowled him for 75 off 44 with 12 fours as well.

Later, Moeen Ali too scored a quickfire 15 off 8 and du Plessis got out for 56 off 38, courtesy Rashid Khan's 4-0-36-3. However, both Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja ensured they didn't face any hiccups and reached the target with 1.3 overs in hand.
