Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced their first defeat in the hands of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 69 runs on Sunday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

RCB came into the game after winning four matches on a trot, while CSK were eyeing another win. However, CSK decided to bat first after winning the toss. They got off to a good start, having a solid partnership from the opening duo - Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad and they added 50 runs after the end of the powerplay.

Meanwhile, RCB bowlers were seen struggling with the ball as they failed to create some pressure on the opponent. However, veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal broke the partnership by removing Ruturaj Gaikwad.

On the other hand, experienced opener Faf du Plesis had scored a stunning fifty, while Suresh Raina also scored a quickfire 24 off 18. But, Harshal Patel's double strike removed du Plessis and Raina brought them back in the game.

However, it was Ravindra Jadeja who turned the table for CSK. He scored a quickfire 62 runs off 28 deliveries. He smashed Harshal Patel with four sixes on a row and brought his half-century in just 25 balls. And, he scored the record 37-run in an over with a maximum and a four as well.

This helped Chennai to put a decent competitive total of 191 runs after 20 overs.

While chasing, RCB opening pair - Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Virat Kohli got off to a steady start. In the first five overs, but RCB lost a couple of wickets within the powerplay as Sam Curran removed Kohli while Shardul Thakur took the wicket of Padikkal as well.

RCB's hopes of chasing down the total got lost as their middle order collapsed suddenly and they reduced to 95/8 at one point. Although Kyle Jamieson and Mohammed Siraj tried a bit towards the end, that was not enough to reach the target and they eventually lost by 69 runs.
