Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is likely to be ruled out of the 2020 edition of Indian Premier League remainder as he has sustained an ankle injury during the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), team sources said on Tuesday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain David Warner gave the ball to Mitchell Marsh in the fifth over but he could bowl only four balls. Marsh got the injury in his ankle in the second ball while trying to save a drive by Aaron Finch in his follow-through. Although he managed to bowl two more balls he was seen limping off the field later on.

However, he showed extreme courage when his team needed him most. He came out to bat at number 10 while chasing but he was in real pain and he also got out too. And, SRH lost the game by 10 runs to RCB.

"It seems a serious injury. I am not sure if he be able to compete in any of the matches," a team source told PTI.

However, the team has not officially revealed anything yet on his injury. If he wouldn’t fit, it will be a huge blow for Sunrisers Hyderabad, although they have Kane Williamson and all-rounder Mohammed Nabi in the dugout to replace him in the playing XI.

Meanwhile, SRH captain David Warner had praised his teammate for coming out to bat despite being in real pain.

"It doesn't look great. A lot of courage from him to walk out there and try his best, but it was unfortunate tonight," Warner said to Star Sports. "Obviously, what you saw out there, it was quite painful, he can't put any weight on it."
